Welcome to West Shore Motel

West Shore Motel, located at 2600 Veterans Rd W in Staten Island, offers a modest yet memorable stay amid the unique natural beauty of the area. This 2.7-rated motel presents a quiet refuge for travelers seeking a simple and clean lodging experience. Guests often appreciate the friendly staff and the comfortable rooms, which maintain a neat standard of cleanliness that creates a welcoming atmosphere.

What sets West Shore Motel apart is its proximity to a peaceful woodland area. Visitors have the rare opportunity to observe deer and other woodland creatures right from their windows, which adds a subtle charm to the stay. A fenced boundary ensures safety while allowing guests to connect with nature. Walking through the nearby woods transports visitors to a different time, away from the city hustle.

The motel’s offerings are basic, yet practical: free Wi-Fi and parking accommodate the essential needs of visitors. While West Shore Motel does not feature amenities like a pool, pet-friendliness, restaurant, airport shuttle, or fitness center, its location near Staten Island’s attractions makes it a strategic base. Notable nearby points of interest include the Staten Island Ferry, Snug Harbor Cultural Center, and Historic Richmond Town, all within easy reach for those looking to explore the borough’s cultural and historic treasures.

The lodging is far from luxurious and polarizing in guest opinions. Some find it to be a reasonable and quiet place to stay, albeit with occasional issues like a stale humid smell or pricing they consider steep given the amenities. Others express stronger reservations, highlighting the motel may not suit all travel preferences. However, it remains the only hospitality option directly available on Staten Island's south shore, underlining its importance for travelers in this niche location.

In summary, West Shore Motel is best suited for visitors who prioritize simplicity, nature views, and proximity to Staten Island’s cultural sites over luxury accommodations. It holds a quiet charm and authenticity that can appeal to those who appreciate a no-frills environment combined with a brush with nature, making it a distinctive choice on the south shore.

The staff are great and the rooms are always clean and its comfy. You sometimes can see deer and other woodland creatures from your window but don't worry there's a fence so they can't get into your room. There's a woodland area you can walk through back there and see the deer grazing. On the other side of that it's like another time. This lodge has recently been on the last season of the television series of "Ray Donovan" So if you're looking to rest in a good affordable place with good staff come on by!

I stayed here for few weeks before i was moving to another state .Other than the stale humid smell, I found it to be fine. It's quiet, everyone is friendly, the people that work here were pleasent. I think 100 dollars a nite is steep but it's the only place on the south shore. And to all the people writing in about the homeless, you have very ugly hearts , and you should thank god you were never put in a situation that you need help, cause it can happen very quickly.
